British America Tobacco (BAT) is an international business, established in 1902. The organisation has gone from strength to strength over recent years, thanks to its market-leading brands, successful strategy, talented people and its Transforming Tobacco ambition.
The Heavyweight team were tasked with designing an app to host their Standards of Business Conduct, digital assets and company policies of BAT. The team provided UI and UX consultancy upfront and created wireframes for the app to ensure all demands were covered and the solution presented was fit for purpose.
A high level of accessibility was required throughout the design as employees from international territories would be provided with access. BAT required designs to incorporate video content, search functionality, feedback forms, links to external training and resources, quick access to useful contacts within the business, FAQ sections and download functionality for key documentation.
Heavyweight delivered designs for both desktop and mobile versions of the BAT app, which incorporated a simple yet stylish aesthetic whilst sticking to strict brand guidelines. Usability and continuity were prioritised, to deliver information clearly in an easy to access manner. Interactive elements were incorporated, along with simple animations, to engage users while they interacted with the app. All functionality was covered within the design presented for content to be displayed and discovered quickly and effectively.
